Through the Eyes of a Fan - EKU & Some red team

Me the Hobo & Chrissy the Hoboette
January 9th marked the Racers first OVC home game of the year, they have already been TCB on the road at Racer Arena South on the campus of UT Martin & Racer Arena North at Southeast Missouri. The Racers on the road at the two schools as of 1/5/12 are at Martin 19-3 and at SEMO 26-8. So you can see that while they are not in Murray, they have the record of a home team.

On Wednesday the Racers took on a team from the East Division of the OVC, The Eastern Kentucky Colonels came into the bank and started off hot, but when Canaan found Ed for the Alley Oop and the slam I was hopeful and the arena was rocking, when the Racers took the lead. However, it would be very short lived when EKU, lead by DiNunno, **I'm still going to bite my tongue about him** went on a 20+ point run, I was wishing that there were alcohol sales allowed at the CFSB Center. I was mad at the refs, the actions of DiNunno (#3 EKU) and the rest of the EKU bench, the lack of effort by the Racers, and how the arena was no longer loud and in support of the Racers. When I saw DiNunno gesturing to the Murray fans over and over and nothing being called, then when he flopped in front of Ed and the EKU bench ran out on the court and nothing was called? I am not mad at DiNunno for his proformace, but his lack of respect and lack of control. I really hope we meet up again in Nashville, I want some revenge!

Saturday brought us some crazy weather around western KY, with the rain, wind and a grain bin exploding! But around 1,000 or so of us still made it to see the Racers play on Dave Loos Court, in Dave Aaron Arena in the Dunn Center. (I think I got that right right....) I knew Peay would come out fighting and gunning for us, and they did. I was happy with the game. It was close and kept us on the edge of our seats, and it was not till a foul was called on Sip that should of been a charge (I think we had the refs from the UK/Vandy game) that seemed to put the Govs on a run. But in the end they pulled it out. And a win over Peay is a good win.

Next up: EIU & SIUe

Peace out & GO RACERS!
