Jeff Bidwell of WPSD News in Paducah is reporting that Murray State could be close to inking a home and home with last years Horizon League Champion.
The Crusaders, who went 22-12 last season, defeated Butler in the Horizon League Semis before losing to Detroit in the championship. They will make for a decent opponent next season as their top two scorers from last season will return. Kevin Van Wijk and Ryan Broekhoff both averaged over 14 points per game last season.
Also according to Bidwell VCU will NOT be coming to The Bank next year. With the switch to the Atlantic 10 and the adding of more tough teams, VCU already had a S.O.S. in the Top 25, therefor they didn't need to add Murray State.
Although the deal with Valparaiso isn't complete, look for it to come soon meaning Murray will have to add only one more team to make their schedule completed. (Not counting the two NAIA schools) Although that last game may not be announced for another month. In case your wondering Murray State has until October to officially announce their schedule.
