Racer Recruiting Update: The Newest Offer

Coach Steve Prohm has been busy scouting talent at the Nike Peach Jam and even made an offer to a player over the weekend. The newest recruit for Racer fans to keep an eye on is 2013 shooting guard Justin Mckie.

Mckie will be a senior this upcoming season for Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina. The 6'3" 175 pound guard has an offer from Memphis and Providence as well as other smaller schools.

According to ESPN, Justin is ranked the 56th best shooting guard in the nation but ranked 9th in South Carolina overall.

Like Steve Prohm, Josh Pastner (Memphis head coach) has an eye for talent. So even though rivals.com and espn.com may not have Mckie listed as a star, he may just end up being one. Remember, it was Pastner who first got interested in Anthony Davis before any major scouting publication had the eventual number one draft pick ranked.

If you want to see Justin for yourself, check out the video below. The kid looks athletic and from other videos I have seen, has pretty form on his jump shot. We'll keep you updated on his recruitment as it continues.
