Charleston Classic Bracket Announced: Racers Vs Tigers in Round 1
The winner of that game will go on to play the winner of College of Charleston and St. Johns, meaning the Racers will not have to play Baylor or Colorado until the Championship Round.
Auburn will be a very winnable game for Murray State as the Tigers are coming off a losing season with a record of 15-16.
The Tigers front court should be the only thing worrying the Racers. 6'10'' center Robb Chubb averaged over 8 points a game last season as a Junior and also collected 28 blocks. Murray State will have to have a collective effort down-low but they should be able to prevail against the overmatched Tigers.
Murray State could face a real test if they are to play Baylor in the Championship round. Not only will the Racers have their hands very full in the front court but the agility and quickness of Pierre Jackson will have some Murray State guards on their heels.
As a college basketball fan you would have to be excited about a Canaan/Jackson match-up but as a Murray State fan, you hope that your team avoids the dreadful blowout on national television. Not saying that's what I believe is going to happen but Baylor does have the athletes to make that a possibility.
Dana O'Neill of ESPN.com picked Murray State over Colorado in the Championship game. I'll have to disagree. My gut prediction tells me Baylor isn't losing a game in this tournament and Murray State will be the last team they beat.
