Murray State Joins the Field at Charleston Classic

Racer fans, get ready for a trip to Charleston, South Carolina this November because Murray State and the Tigers of Auburn are the two latest members to join the 2012 Charleston Classic. As of last night, the field is complete and as a Racer fan I couldn't be more excited about the other schools who will be participating. This tournament will offer Murray State a more challenging experience than the one they got last year in Alaska, in terms of quality of opponents, although some games did come down to the wire, including the double overtime Championship game against Southern Miss.

With an Elite Eight run last year, the Baylor Bears will be the overwhelming favorite to win this tournament but other teams like Colorado and St. John's will be tough competition as well. Also in this year's edition of the Charleston Classic is Dayton, who Murray throttled at home last year, Boston College and of course The College of Charleston. The 8 team tournament begins on November 15th with all games televised on ESPN.

---In other Murray State basketball news, Isaiah Canaan was named OVC Male Athlete of the Year.
