Coach Prohm Receives Citizen of the Year

It has been an amazing season for our Murray State basketball team. They had a great run to start the season, going 23-0 before losing their first and only game of the regular season. They won the OVC tournament and advanced past the first round of the NCAA tournament. Truly Steve Prohm and his players put together an outstanding season.

Awards continue to flow, even after the last string on the net was cut, for Coach Prohm. He was recently awarded Citizen of the Year by Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce. Lance Allison, who is president and CEO of the chamber, stated that Coach Prohm was given due to his success with last season. It was also due to the sell-out crowds in the CFSB Center that positively affected local economy.

We here at MKY Sports want to congratulate Coach Prohm on his accomplishments on and off the court. I'm sure more awards will come in as the nation sees what an amazing coach we have here at Murray State.
