Aska and the Virgin Islands Pick Up their First Win

The Virgin Islands and Aska were 0-2 going into today’s game against Costa Rica. Not anymore. Aska and the Virgin Islands had no problem defeating Costa Rica by a score of 92-64.

Ivan Aska made Racer Nation proud again as he scored 17 points and shot 50% from the field. He also snagged five rebounds and recorded a steal in 27 minutes of play. Aska was second on the team in scoring and rebounding.

The Virgin Islands played well as a team today. Five players scored in double-figures. They shot 60% from the field and dished out 21 assists. The Virgin Islands also out-rebounded Costa Rica 49 to 29. .

Defensively, the Virgin Islands were rock solid. Costa Rica only shot 39% from the field and shot 31% from outside. Costa Rica didn’t help their cause at the charity stripe either. They only shot 54% from the line.

Aska and the Virgin Islands dominated Costa Rica on both ends of the floor.

The win makes the Virgin Islands 1-2 and Costa Rica 0-2. Aska and the Virgin Islands will have the day off tomorrow and will return to the court on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.
