One Racer is a Step Closer to her Olympic Dream

Alexis Love made Racer Nation proud tonight. Love is trying to achieve an Olympic Dream as she was participating in the 200 meter preliminaries of  the Olympics Trials.

Love ran from lane three in the first heat and moved onto the semifinals with a run of 23.15. Her time was just shy of her Murray State/Ohio Valley Conference record of 23.08.

But, Love finished fourth in her heat and had to watch five more heats to see if she would move to the semifinals. Her fourth place finish didn't guarantee her a spot in the semifinals. She had to wait and see if she had one of the next three fastest times in the five remaining heats of those who finished outside of the top-3 in each heat. If she didn't, her Olympic dreams would be over. However, her Olympic Dreams are alive.

MKY Sports will continue to cover Love run to the Olympics. Love will find out her heat and lane assignments for the 200 meter semifinals later on tonight. The semifinals begin at 5 p.m. CT in Eugene, Oregon on Friday.

In the meantime, lets cheer on Alexis Love. Make Racer Nation proud.
