Will Snodgrass, Director of Golf at MMGC, is expecting anywhere from 100-105 players but has had as many as 120 show up for the tournament. Among those players will be some former Murray State Golfers. If that intimidates you, don't let it. After the first day the players are divided into different flights depending on what they shot the previous day. This, of course, is to insure the tournament stays competitive and everyone enjoys themselves.
Snodgrass wants the participants to enjoy the tournament instead of being frustrated by trying to tackle a difficult course. "The players will play from the white tees." Snodgrass said, "If the golfers are going to have fun, they are going to want to shoot well. We don't want to make the course more difficult."
There are a plethora of prizes to win and the champion will go home with a nice trophy, definitely something one would want to display in their trophy room. Snodgrass' said, "This is a good way for golfers to play and go home with a little something."
MMGC has been running the tournament since Snodgrass became the Director of Golf at the course. It will begin on July 28th and complete on July 29th. Tee times will be from 7AM to 1PM. MKYSports will be there to cover the tournament and get an interview with the winners.
